Before Portfolio Place, finding a qualified tutor meant asking around in your neighborhood, navigating unreliable word-of-mouth, and having no guarantee of quality or safety.
We built Portfolio Place to change that. A transparent marketplace where tutors are verified, ranked by real performance, and held accountable — and where students can book a live session with an expert from anywhere in the country.

Our Journey
A student struggling to find a reliable JAMB tutor in Abuja. A teacher with years of experience but no way to reach students beyond his street. Portfolio Place was born from that gap.
We designed the platform with input from 40 teachers and 120 students across Nigeria. KYC verification, escrow payments, and the rank system were all inspired by their feedback.
Portfolio Place launched with 50 verified tutors across Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. Within 3 months, over 1,000 sessions had been completed with a 97% satisfaction rate.
We added the real-time collaborative whiteboard, expanded to 12 subject areas, and launched JAMB/WAEC prep specializations. Tutor count crossed 500.
We're expanding to cover more Nigerian states, adding group sessions, and building a scholarship program for underprivileged students. The mission continues.
